I'm sorry to hear about Abby. I had to make that same, tough decision last fall with my dog. She was 16 (she was given to us when she was 9) and she was having more and more trouble going into colder months. My heart hasn't been so heavy in years. I can relate to your pain. I promised Kate that eventually we would get another dog but I was very reluctant because I felt you just can't replace that love. But, one day I was drawn to the humane society where I met "Toby". Toby is an 80 pound Bassett-shepard mix which I call our "bassard". He is all basset except for his face...really funny and the best medicine we could have asked for. Anyway, you can't replace what you've had with Abby but you can reach out to another who would love to share your lap and love. Hope all else is good with you... Peace Annie Hi, Mark.
