46 Things About Me

In honor of the date, here are 46 Things About Me…
- I’ve had my left ear pierced since 2001
- Since June 2006 I’ve lost 50 pounds of weight, and kept it off
- I’ve lived in six states
- I’m learning German
- With the exception of two programs, I watch no television
- Sixteen years after leaving it behind, I am once again working in COBOL
- I have a diabetic cat
- I am an eHarmony success story
- I use the front side of the towel to dry my front, and the back side for the back
- Except for one goof, I’ve had a beard and/or mustache for more than 10 years now
- I commute an average of 10,000 miles per year
- I am fascinated by language
- If I couldn’t be a software architect, I’d want to be a chiropractor
- Or maybe a massage therapist
- I started my 8th profession job in January
- For the first time in 10 years I am an employee again
- I’ve had a car broken into
- One of my vehicles was stolen once
- My apartment has been robbed
- A year ago today was the last time I saw my mother when she was alive and conscious
- In October I will start my 25th year as a “programmer”
- I have three computers on my desk at home
- Not counting Palm devices
- I carry two computers with me almost everywhere
- There are 11 working computers in my home, counting Palm devices
- That I planted a bulb of garlic and it is growing pleases me to no end
- When I was 16, and the US had its Bicentennial Celebration, I decided I wanted to see the Tricentennial Celebration.
- I still want to see the US in 2076
- I know how to play a major scale on a piano
- I understand that there are three minor scale patterns
- I am terrified of the dentist
- I like being a nerd
- Learning German is making my English better
- I’m a huge fan of Pixar’s animated movies
- I can watch the same movie over and over again
- I can eat the same meal (or its leftovers) several meals in a row
- I would like to live in a foreign country
- I can type 58 words per minute
- I usually read about 70 books in a year
- I often am reading 3 or 4 books at the same time
- Once upon a time I twiddled my thumbs to set a record
- Every year I think this list is a good idea, until I get to the last dozen or so items and run out of ideas
- I know the keyboard shortcuts for all the umlauted characters
- I like orange juice without pulp
- I prefer peanut M&Ms to plain
